Magic Johnson joins Washington Spirit ownership group

NBA Hall of Famer Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson has joined an investor group affiliated with the Washington Spirit, announced the majority team owner on ‘CBS Mornings.’ Johnson expressed his support for women’s soccer and emphasized his previous sports team investments, including the Washington Commanders (NFL), Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA), and Los Angeles FC (MLS). He also holds partial ownership stakes in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Team Liquid. Johnson’s addition to the investor group was hailed as an honor by the club’s release. The Spirit currently hold second place in the NWSL standings.
