For people in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s summer and the weather may be too warm for safe outdoor exercise in some places. Adults should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity weekly, but doing so in high temperatures can be risky. Factors like age, medical conditions, and medications can increase vulnerability to heat-related illnesses. It’s advisable to check the weather forecast and avoid exercising in the hottest part of the day. Symptoms of heat exhaustion include headache, weakness, dizziness, and nausea, while heat stroke requires immediate medical attention.
