After a former executive editor of a major news outlet passed away, his brother discovered a disturbing trend online. In the days following his brother’s death, multiple biographies were published on Amazon, many of which contained false information. These books were identified as AI-generated and appeared to be a macabre new genre of hastily-written, low-quality biographies. Some of the subjects included famous comedians and musicians.
